A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death after she allegedly protested against continuous teasing by a miscreant under Mitauli police station area in Lakhimpur Kheri district on Saturday morning.

LUCKNOW: A 15-year-old girl was stabbed to death after she allegedly protested against continuous teasing by a miscreant under Mitauli police station area in Lakhimpur Kheri district on Saturday morning.
The girl was identified as Ruby, daughter of Ram Dulare, a resident of Chandpurwa village under Mitauli police station area.
Ruby was a class IX student of Unchi Taliya Inter College.

The incident happened when she was going to college.
The police sources said that the girl was accompanied by her brother, who is also a student of the same class, when the incident took place.
Ruby's brother, whose name could not be ascertained, saw the accused, identified as Surendra (28), charging towards them with a knife in his hand. Thinking that Surendra was after his life, Ruby's brother fled the spot.
However, Surendra came near Ruby and stabbed her to death.
Surendra, according to the police, is also a resident of the same village. His two brothers are married and live separately, while Surendra lives alone just near the house of Ruby.
ASP (Khiri) Ramakant Prasad said that efforts were on to nab the culprit.
