Lucknow: Churches across city observed Good Friday with prayer services, processions and spiritual reflection.
At Daliganj Church, a service of seven statements from the cross for the salvation of mankind was held. The service included a short narration of the events which took place that day, bible reading and hymns like 'Near the Cross', and 'Road to Calvary'. Priest in charge, Parag Wesley, gave the message of unconditional love for God and a special prayer for peace and prosperity of the nation.
In the end, red coloured goodies and eatables were exchanged among the members of the church, remembering the blood and sacrifice of Jesus.
At Assembly of Believers Church, Aliganj, a skit was staged on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, followed by a special prayer by Pastor Morris Kumar.
A three-hour service, centered on the last seven words spoken by Jesus from the cross, was organised at Epiphany Church, Lalbagh. Priest in charge, Evan Frank Baksh, sermoned the members of the church.
A powerful message was given by Abhay Soans, Presbyter in charge of All saints Garrison Church, Gomtinagar, about the sacrifice of Jesus Christ for the sins of mankind.
