Yathish told TOI, “The DC requested us to take up campaigns on social media. I sat down with artist Vismaya Vinayak and worked out a concept. We are racing against time to control the dengue outbreak in the city. Once the lyrics written by Vinayak were approved, we sat together, as he recorded the song. This is a multi-purpose jingle that has already become a hit. We are considering releasing a video based on this jingle,” he said.
A local television channel has requested to use this jingle to spread awareness on dengue and its prevention. It can also be used by students for flash mobs to create awareness. Released on Wednesday, the jingle a mixture of Tulu and Kannada lyrics, has already gone viral. Several versions of the jingle are expected to be released, and Yathish is hopeful of bringing out a video with Tulu filmstars, to create awareness on dengue. Most of them are busy shooting, and we are waiting for the rain to subside, before shooting the video,” said Yathish.
“We are considering carrying out a systematic campaign to prevent diseases like dengue and malaria in the city, which will be taken up before the monsoon sets in. At present, two awareness meetings of volunteers were held in Jeppu and Bokkapatna on Tuesday. Another meeting will be held on Thursday for volunteers, who will create awareness on dengue in Kadri ,” he said.
