UDUPI: Institute of Karate and Allied Arts, Malpe, is organizing a two-day state level Karate competition on Saturday and Sunday at Yelur Moghaveera Bhavan Malpe.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, Udupi District Karate Association president Anand Ganiga said over 800 Karate players are expected to take part in the competition. The matches are played in the model of rotation team combat, a game technique rarely played in this part of area.
Dakshina Kannada Fish Marketing Federation president Yashpal Suvarna will inaugurate the meet, industrialist Pramod Madhavaraj will preside.
Government Pre-University College, Malpe, principal Meti Mudiyappa, Udupi CMC Member Vijay Kunder, Pallu U K F Asia President C Hanumanth Rao will be the chief guests on the occasion, he added.
The office bearers of the ,institute Prabhakar Kunder, Kiran Marshal, Derrick and others were present.
