Thane: Five members of a gang from Kerala were arrested for robbing a man of Rs 30 lakh near Thane railway station on Feb 21, 2025.
The Thane Police Crime Branch Unit-1 cracked the case and recovered Rs 10.5 lakh in cash and valuables, said DCP (Crime) Amar Singh Jadhav. The robbery occurred around 7:15 pm when the victim, a 43-year-old man from Mumbra, was returning home from his workplace in Kalbadevi, Mumbai. He was carrying a bag containing Rs 30 lakh in cash. He was ambushed by four men at the parking lot. One of them sprayed a chemical on his face, while the others snatched the bag. The arrested accused have been identified as Vignesh Poken K (31) of Wayanad, Suhat Moiuddin Khoya TP (31) from Calicut, Prabul Dev Premkumar Pullivata (27) and Akhil Krishna PV (27) from Kannur, and Subilesh K Balkrishnan (32) from Kozhikode. —Nishikant Karlikar
