Police department clerk found dead at MLA Hostel

Nagpur: A police department clerk, identified as Naseem Khan Pathan, was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Thursday at the MLA Hostel where he occasionally stayed. Pathan was posted at the office of Zonal DCP Lohit Matani at Rana Pratap Nagar.Sources stated Pathan was a native of Chandrapur.Police said that Pathan was addicted to liquor. Earlier in the day, he shared his feeling of uneasiness with others. Pathan also requested to be shifted to a hospital. Some of his acquaintances alerted an ambulance, but he collapsed before being admitted.Pathan was declared brought dead at the Mayo Hospital, where his post-mortem would be conducted soon. A case ofaccidental death was registered at Sitabuldi police station. Senior Inspector Vithal Singh Rajput of Sitabuldi police station ruled out any foul play behind the death. "There were no injuries on his body. Some empty liquor bottles were also found at the spot," said the senior PI adding post-mortem would help us ascertain the cause of death.
