Patna: Aimed at managing the increased passenger traffic during the holiday rush, railways has announced the operation of three more pairs of summer special trains from the state to Gujarat. Two trains are scheduled to run from Samastipur and Jaynagar to Udhna (located on Surat outskirts), while one will run on Ahmedabad-Danapur route.
According to East Central Railway's chief public relations officer (CPRO) Saraswati Chandra, each of these special trains will run with reserved coaches and follow a time-bound schedule.
Udhna-Samastipur weekly special (09069/09070) has been put into operation from May 3 to 31, leaving the Gujarat town every Saturday at 10.35pm and reaching the Bihar city next Monday at 2.30am. On its return, it will leave Samastipur every Monday at 4am from May 5 to June 2 and reach Udhna on Tuesday at 2pm via Muzaffarpur, Patliputra Junction and DDU route.
Similarly Udhna-Jaynagar special (09067/09068) has been pressed into service from May 4 to 25 leaving the Gujarat town every Sunday at 12.30am and reaching Jaynagar on Monday at 9.30pm. On its return, it will leave Jaynagar every Monday at 11.30pm from May 5 to 26 and reach Udhna on Wednesday at 12.15am,
Ahmedabad-Danapur weekly special (09407/09408) will run from May 6 to June 17, leaving the Gujarat city every Tuesday at 9.20am and reaching the Bihar town on Wednesday at 7pm. On its return, it will leave Danapur every Wednesday at 10.30pm from May 7 to June 18 and reach Ahmedabad on Friday at 7.15am.
