Nitish Kumar on Friday confirmed that he would visit Bengaluru on Saturday to attend the swearing-in of the new Congress government in
Karnataka, to be headed by
Siddaramaiah.
“I have an old friendship with the chief minister-select (Siddaramaiah). He has invited me. The Congress national president (
Mallikarjun Kharge) too has invited me. I have assured them to attend the swearing-in ceremony.
So, I am going to Bengaluru tomorrow,” Nitish said.
Asked about the meeting of opposition leaders which he is likely to convene in Patna, Nitish said, “Let me first return after attending the swearing-in ceremony in Karnataka. I am already in talks with the leaders (of different parties) over convening the meeting of opposition leaders. When we finalize (about the meeting), we will let you know.”
