Girl charred to death in Jehanabad

Patna: A two-year-old girl, Preeti Kumari, was charred in a fire breakout that occurred under Makhdampur police station area of Jehanabad district on Thursday. The fire was caused by an electrical shortcircuit in the overhead power lines. It spread rapidly, engulfing the threshing ground and destroying crops. The fire department was called in to control the blaze, but the a kid lost her life. Makhdampur SHO, Om Pratap, said, "Preeti, who was playing in the area, got trapped in the fire and succumbed to her injuries. The police took custody of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. The administration will provide compensation to the deceased's family."
