Chhapra: An undertrial prisoner, Nitesh Kumar, who escaped from Chhapra Jail on Saturday, was arrested from his home on Monday.
Chhapra jail superintendent, Radhey Shyam Suman, said on Tuesday that the undertrial prisoner has been arrested and he would be sent to the jail on Tuesday evening.
He added that Nitesh had escaped from the prison two years ago also. "He was arrested on the charge of theft of a tractor. After completion of formalities, he will be sent to the jail on Tuesday evening," he said.
Three constables—Dhananjai Ray, Arun Kumar and Nand Kishore—have been suspended, while explanation has been sought from a prison officer Jitendra Gupta and two jamadars in this connection.
To review the security arrangements, DM Aman Samir and SP Kumar Ashish inspected the jail premises on Tuesday and gave some valuable suggestions.
