Bizman loses Rs 1.5L on Dubai-Pune flight
Pune: The Airport police are investigating a complaint by Pimpri businessman Suyog Sapkal (45), stating that Rs 1.5 lakh was stolen from his bag while he was on a SpiceJet flight from Dubai to Pune between May 1 and 2.
Sapkal stated in his complaint that on April 28, he went to Dubai for business work and received Rs 1.50 lakh from a Dubai-based friend, which the businessman had loaned him.

Sapkal said, "I kept the amount in a trolley bag and boarded a SpiceJet flight in Dubai on Thursday night, which landed in Pune around 4.30am on Friday. When I picked up my bag from the conveyor belt at the airport, I noticed that its lock was broken. I checked the bag and found the cash missing."
He said that he showed the bag to the customs officers at the airport. They told him to inform the airline's staff. "I even requested them to check their employees. But I was told to lodge a police complaint first. When I called up the police control room, the airport police reached arrived instantly, but they were not allowed to go inside," he said, adding that he visited the airport police station and registered a complaint.
SpiceJet said that they were investigating the matter. "The matter is being investigated," an airline spokesperson told TOI.
Senior inspector Ajay Sankeshwari said, "We are coordinating with the airport and CISF authorities to detect the case."
