Pune rain record of 86 years shattered in less than 3 hours

Pune's Shivajinagar area Wednesday shattered its 24-hour Sept rainfall record that had stood for 86 years. The IMD station recorded 131mm rainfall, with the bulk of it pouring down in less than three hours, from 2.30pm to 5.30 pm, reports .
The final 24-hour figures, measured from 8.30am Wednesday to 8.30am Thursday, will be released Thursday morning, potentially surpassing 132.3mm, the 1938 record of Pune's all-time high rain in September.
