RAIPUR: In a significant step towards advancing research and development in the field of forensics science including cybersecurity, the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur and State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) Raipur have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
The MoU was signed in the presence of NIT Raipur director Professor N.V. Ramana Rao and SFSL Director Sushil Chandra Dwivedi.
The agreement outlined several key areas of collaboration under the sphere of forensics science, including strengthening research and academic collaboration by organizing frequent review/discussion meetings, promote student training and quality research, Access to research and laboratory facilities, organizing academic programs, workshops, and conferences, facilitate knowledge exchange in advanced forensics research areas, encourage technology incubation, hackathons and startups.
The MoU focuses on overall advancement in the fields of Digital Forensics (Audio/Video/Mobile/Cyber Forensics), DNA Analysis, advanced scanner and microscopic analysis, Brain Mapping, etc.
The partnership also allows for collaboration in other mutually beneficial areas. This collaboration is expected to foster innovation, enhance academic exchanges, and address critical challenges in Cyber Forensics and other branches of forensics science through combined research and application efforts.
Both NIT Raipur and SFSL Raipur have expressed optimism about the potential outcomes of this partnership, which is set to commence immediately following the signing of the agreement.
Dr. Nitesh K Bharadwaj, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, NIT Raipur and Dr. Vikrant Singh Thakur ,Audio Video Forensic Division , SFSL will coordinate all collaborative activities between SFSL Raipur and NIT Raipur.
