Dhanbad cops begin probe into minor’s gang rape

Ranchi: Dhanbad police, which began probe in connection to an alleged gang rape of a minor girl, on Wednesday said that they are awaiting medical report for further action. On April 3, the 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by four youths and allegedly gang-raped. On April 7, the survivor's father formally lodged an FIR at a local police station.Dhanbad SSP Hrudeep P Janardhanan on Wednesday said that the girl's medical examination was conducted on Tuesday and reports are awaited. "The statements of the girl and her father have not been corroborated yet. As per her statement, four boys abducted her when she went to the toilet in the backyard of her house. Later they gang-raped her. We will probe why the matter was reported after three days. When the police asked them to produce the clothing she was wearing on the day of the incident, they said they had already washed them," he said. TNN
