National seminar on canine training
Ranchi: Minister of home affairs will organise two-day 6th National Police K9 seminar at Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) Dog Training School in Ranchi from Wednesday.
The event would witness gathering of 250 experts from central armed police, state police, armed force, law enforcement agencies and veterinary specialists who would exchange their experience based ideas on topic ‘Unlocking Potential: Holistic Approach to K 9 Training and Well Being'.
Speaking to media persons, deputy inspector general Sumant Singh on Monday said that among the topics of discussion would be canine training techniques, canine behaviour; insight and understanding emotions, new and emerging technology in K 9 training, K 9 nutrition and health, and building a perfect human K 9 partnership.
The DIG said that the role of canines in security and counter offensive operation have undergone a significant change. He said that the school has trained over 500 dogs and trainers for the CISF in the last five years.
