T'puram: As part of a larger campaign to unite people across Kerala against the growing menace of drug abuse, a ‘Walk Against Drugs' will be held at Kozhikode beach under the leadership of senior Congress leader Ramesh Chennithala.
The walk, scheduled for Saturday at 6.30am, is being organised by the Proud Kerala Movement, an initiative launched by Chennithala to spread awareness about the dangers of drug abuse, especially among children. The organisers said only a collective effort can help the state recover from the growing threat.
Prominent personalities from various walks of life, including Panakkad Munavvar Ali Thangal, IUML leader MK Muneer, Kozhikode MP MK Raghavan and actor-director Joy Mathew are expected to join the event, according to Proud Kerala chairman Malayinkeezhu Venugopal.
