Trichy: Municipal administration minister K N Nehru on Friday inspected the preparation work for the inauguration of integrated bus terminus (IBT) at Panjapur here on May 9. Earlier, district administration and Trichy corporation conducted a groundbreaking ceremony at the site to host the event in which chief minister Stalin will participate.
Trichy corporation has been clearing a four-acre vacant site near the new terminus to host the inauguration event. The chief minister will also distribute welfare assistance including patta documents to residents in govt poramboke land in Trichy East, Trichy West, Srirangam, and Thiruverumbur taluks during the event.
Meanwhile, district collector M Pradeep Kumar, mayor Mu Anbalagan and corporation commissioner V Saravanan took part in the groundbreaking ceremony on Friday to develop temporary shelters for the CM's visit.
Minister Nehru said that the final phase of work is nearing completion to commission the integrated terminus, which was constructed at Rs 246 crore and can handle around 3,200 buses a day.
