Action sought after external examiner’s name disclosed
Vadodara: Congress activist and former MS University (MSU) senate member Kapil Joshi submitted a memorandum to the MSU vice-chancellor on Wednesday. He sought action regarding the alleged blunder in declaring the name of the external examiner for PhD exams of the faculty of social work.
Joshi said the name of the external examiner was put up on the noticeboard of the faculty. He added that it was later argued that the declaration did not violate rules.
Joshi said the long list of rules handed over to external examiners clearly state that they should not disclose their appointment to anyone. He added that in the case of the recent viva for PhD, the names were not disclosed to the candidates, and only ‘VC nominated external examiner' was used. He said this indicated that the incident at the social work faculty was a violation of rules and that action had to be taken about it.
