Godhra hospital running without doctor raided
Vadodara: The special operations group (SOG) of Panchmahal police raided a hospital that was allegedly operating without a qualified doctor in Godhra. The hospital had doctors working there earlier but was currently operating without one.
SOG sleuths received information about Astha Hospital in the Bhuravav area of Godhra town. Officials from Godhra Civil Hospital were informed about the hospital, and it was raided late on Tuesday evening.
A large stock of medicine was found at the hospital. It came to light that the hospital was being operated by one Sandeep Bhinde. Medicines and other materials worth Rs 86,843 were seized from the hospital.
SOG police inspector R A Patel said the hospital earlier had qualified doctors working for it, including Bhinde's daughter. "Currently, there is no qualified doctor at the hospital," Patel said. The hospital is more than two decades old and was earlier known by a different name, Patel said.
