VADODARA: A local court remanded Sanjay Pau, gangster Mukesh Harjani's henchman, in police custody for seven days here on Wednesday night. Pau was arrested by the detection of crime branch (DCB) officials on Tuesday night and five pistols were recovered from him. Cops suspect that one of the pistols was used for killing Ramesh Hande.
The cops have sought remand on several grounds that include tracking down two other persons who were involved in the Hande murder case and extracting information about the place from where the pistols were bought. "Pau had hidden the pistols in a deserted godown in Sayajigunj. We want to know about the place or person from where he bought the weapons," said a police official.
Police officials also said they have got names of two more persons who were involved in the murder and they are trying to know their whereabouts. The cops have arrested three persons in the murder case and are now searching for Harjani and his accomplice Pappu Sharma. Pau was involved in vehicle and small-time thefts in the past. The arrest of Sanjay Dave from Kheda has helped the cops in getting detailed information about the modus operandi employed to kill Hande.
