5-day forensic workshop from tomorrow

Vijayawada: Director general of police Harish Kumar Gupta announced that Andhra Pradesh Forensic Science Laboratory (APFSL) will conduct a forensic workshop from May 5 to 10. The workshop aims to enhance awareness about the significance of forensic evidence among investigative officers, doctors, and public prosecutors from across all districts in the state.
The key objective of the workshop is to provide comprehensive training on the proper handling and collection of forensic evidence, guidelines on maintaining the chain of custody, scientific procedures to be followed in criminal investigations, and modern forensic standards.
DGP Harish emphasised the crucial role that forensic science plays in scientifically analysing physical evidence to uncover the truth in criminal cases.
He stated that accuracy in investigations and fair legal proceedings contribute to faster convictions, ultimately ensuring law and order, and reducing crime rates in the state.
