VISAKHAPATNAM: The Naval Civil Technical and Non -Technical Employees Co-operative Building Society Limited president Tata Rao urged the government and also the police to take action against the former president of the society Saladi Devi Prasad for allegedly cheating the members on the excuse of giving plots.
Speaking to the media persons here on Tuesday, the society members alleged that the former president Devi Prasad during his tenure in 1994 lured in the members promising them house sites in Pulagalipalem in Pendurthi mandal.
Around 424 members of the society have paid money to him. He purchased land parcel of 24 acres, which cost him 24 lakhs, and fled with the remaining money.
They alleged that around 13 members were not allotted house sites till date.
Devi Prasad along with others Killi Appala Naidu and Dhuli Krishna Rao have cheated the members, complainants said.
The society members have urged the police and the government to intervene in the issue and do justice to them to get 200 square yard house sites.
