Superstar Rajinikanth was admitted to a Chennai hospital for a regular health check-up on September 20. He recently met with SP Muthuraman and AVM Saravanan, discussing the past and present of the film industry. Rajinikanth's upcoming film 'Vettaiyan' is set for release on October 10.

Superstar actor Rajinikanth on September 20 got admitted to a private hospital in Chennai for a regular health check-up. Earlier yesterday, the actor met his former regular collaborators SP Muthuraman and producer AVM Saravanan. Express reported that the actor met them to discuss the current cinematic trends, and it was just a courtesy call. The report also stated that the three recalled their shooting experiences from the 1980s and discussed the past and present of the film industry.
The photos of their meeting have now been shared on social media, and Rajinikanth gifted director SP Muthuraman a book written by EV Velu on the former and late DMK leader M Karunanidhi titled 'Kalaignar Enum Thaai', and the actor presented AVM Saravanan with a small statue of poet Thiruvalluvar.
On the work front, Rajinikanth is awaiting the release of his film 'Vettaiyan' directed by TJ Gnanvel. The movie stars Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Rana Daggubati, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Abhirami, and Rakshan. Set for its release on October 10, the music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.
Following that, Rajinikanth has signed up for his next film 'Coolie' with director Lokesh Kanagaraj. The shooting for it has begun and the film stars Rajinikanth, Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Soubin Shahir, and Upendra Rao. The music for it is composed by Anirudh Ravichander.

Meanwhile, the makers have unveiled the trailer for 'Vettaiyan' on the last day which promises an intense action film which will rely in it's emotional core rather than fight sequences.
