Irrfan Khan is still remembered fondly. A village in Maharashtra's Nashik district has renamed a neighborhood "Hero Chi Wadi" to honor him. This was inspired by his ownership of a farmhouse for 15 years near Trilangwadi fort and his kindness to the local community. The area was previously known as Patryacha Wada.
Babil Khan, son of Irrfan Khan, recently clarified on social media that the farmhouse, associated with his late father, was actually built by his mother, Sutapa Sikdar. Babil expressed pride in her efforts and highlighted her significant role in creating the property, correcting the common misconception.

However, Babil clarified, "My father is a genius but I'm sorry to disappoint you, that farmhouse was solely built, maintained, and the village fought for; all by my mother @sikdarsutapa Baba had dreams for mamma, these were the dreams he couldn't fulfill, so she got up and did it. That's what I call a queen."
Babil also commented on the post, saying, "It might have been named after him, but all the work was put in by my mother. Baba is a genius, and he had dreams for that village, it is mamma taking those dreams forward because he is not here to do it. Give my mother the credit."
