In an interview with Hauterrfly, Sonakshi shared, "Main sabse choti, ghar ki ladki toh sabse laadli. Toh bhaiyo ko jalan bhi toh hoti thi. Toh mujhe padti thi" (I am the youngest child and a girl, so I was the favourite. This made them jealous, and they would hit me).

While she mentioned that fights among siblings are natural, Sonakshi’s alleged rift with her brothers resurfaced during her wedding to Zaheer Iqbal on June 23 last year. Although her brother Kussh was spotted at some events, Luv was absent from the celebrations. Luv also shared cryptic social media posts hinting at underlying family tensions, leading to speculation that he did not approve of Sonakshi’s choice of partner.
Luv then addressed the online buzz surrounding his absence from the wedding, stating on Instagram, "Why I chose not to attend. Running an online campaign against me on a false premise won’t change the fact that for me my family will always come first."
Sonakshi Sinha's style file decoded

Shatrughan Sinha, in an interview with Retro Lehren, reaffirmed his support for his daughter’s inter-faith marriage, stating, "Of course, I will support my daughter. I don’t have any reason to not to. It’s their life and their wedding. They have to lead a life. If they are sure about each other, who are we to be against it? As parents and as a father, it was my duty to support her. I have always been with her, and I will continue to be so. We speak so much about women empowerment, how is it wrong for her to choose her partner? Not like she did anything illegal. She was mature."
While he did not comment on why his sons skipped the wedding, he acknowledged their emotions, adding, "I won’t complain. They are only humans. They maybe still not be so mature. I do understand their pain and confusion. There is always cultural reaction. Maybe, if I was their age, I might have had a similar reaction to it. But, here is where your maturity, seniority, and experience comes in place. Hence, my reaction was not as extreme as my sons."

Despite the family tensions, Sonakshi and Zaheer have remained unaffected by the controversy, focusing on their new journey together.
