Ayesha Jhulka breaks silence on dating rumours with Akshay Kumar and Mithun Chakraborty: ‘Abhi bhi, I have more guy friends’

Ayesha Jhulka was one of the biggest stars of the 90s, known for her grace and memorable performances in films like Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, Khiladi, and Dalaal. While she was loved for her on-screen presence, her personal life was often the subject of tabloid gossip, especially regarding her alleged link-ups with co-stars.
Ayesha, who made a comeback in 2022 with the web series Hush Hush, was frequently linked with actors like Akshay Kumar, Mithun Chakraborty and Armaan Kohli. In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, she opened up about these rumours and the controversies surrounding her.
When asked about reports linking her with co-stars during a film’s shoot, Ayesha clarified, “First thing I’ll tell you, meri maa ne mujhe kabhi akela nahi chhoda, ek din bhi nahi. Main kabhi set pe akeli nahi gayi. Meri maa ya mere dad hamesha saath rehte the. Toh yeh bilkul galat tha jo likha jata tha.”

Ayesha Jhulka shared how these rumours affected her personally. “Yaar, kuch hua hi nahi toh kyu likh rahe ho? Phir aadat padd jaati hai.” She pointed out that while the media focused on alleged link-ups, they never highlighted the fun moments shared by the cast. “Why don’t you write about the fun times we had?” she quipped.
The actress also revealed a shocking incident where she was linked with multiple actors at the same time. “Aapke kitne affairs ho sakte hai ek time pe? Matlab humanly kitne possible hai yaar? Samjho, 8-10 films ek saath kar rahe hai, yeh set pe jaa rahe hai ya woh set pe jaa rahe hai… Ek mahine me 4 different heroes ke saath mujhe link-up kiya tha. Maine kaha, ‘Waah yaar, too much demand!’”

Ayesha also highlighted the lack of privacy that actors faced back in the day. “Privacy kuch nahi thi, I don’t know ab kaise hota hai, par uss time pe kuch privacy nahi hoti thi, van kuch nahi thi, room nahi hote the. But then you just learn to take it in your stride and you start laughing about it.”
Ayesha emphasized that she has always had more male friends and found it unfair that only known faces were linked with her. “Abhi bhi – mere asli zindagi mein, I have more guy friends. Just because those guys are not known faces… Matlab theek hai, times have changed. Par abhi bhi mujhe log puchte hai, ‘Aapke inke, inke, inke saath affairs the?’ Aur jab naam bataya jaata hai, toh Mithun da ka naam sunke main sochti hu, ‘Matlab kahi toh kuch soch ke bolo!
