Dill Mill Gayye maker Siddharth P Malhotra: I’m actively working on a medical film for the big screen

Known for his TV show Dill Mill Gayye, where he was associated as a creator, Siddharth P Malhotra made one more show around medical drama for the web called Doctors, as a creative producer. The filmmaker who has directed movies like We Are Family, Hichki and Maharaj is now actively working towards making a film for the big screen on the similar subject.
He tells us, “I would love to make a medical film for the big screen, it’s something I’m actively working on. In fact, I’ve already explored three different scripts in this space, but for various reasons, they didn’t materialise. However, the idea remains very close to my heart.”
Malhotra feels that he understands the subject well and just can’t wait for the project to roll. He continues, “I genuinely want to bring a compelling story from the medical drama world to the big screen. The casting would entirely depend on the story. If it’s about young interns, the actors would be different from a film about senior doctors or a father-daughter medical duo. So, while I don’t have an ideal cast in mind yet, I’m confident that once we have the right script, the right actors will follow. It’s definitely on my bucket list, and I’m working towards making it a reality. Hopefully, when the time is right, I’ll have an exciting announcement to make!”

In an earlier chat with us, he had opened up about his upcoming film Kamal And Meena, which is the untold love story of legendary actor Meena Kumari and filmmaker Kamal Amrohi. About the highly anticipated project, he had told us, “It is a highly commercial film. Meena Kumari and Kamal Amrohi’s love story is full of drama, passion, and larger-than-life moments. It’s anything but an art house film or a conventional biopic. It’s an intense and engaging love story that will captivate audiences.”
