Korean star Wheesung was laid to rest in a private funeral over the weekend. After photos from the ceremony turned up online, fans of the star stumbled upon a video posted by a Korean fortune teller in 2020, predicting the singer's death.
The video of the fortuneteller that went viral online, sees her foretelling Wheesung's demise, while asking fans to help her reach out to him. According to reports, the woman named Kim Yeon Hee originally uploaded the video on May 1, 2020, expressing her concerns about the singer's well-being and shared, "I'm too scared to keep this to myself, so I'm posting it as a video. I really hope Wheesung sees this."
In the clip, Kim stated that she felt compelled to share her vision, fearing that keeping it to herself would be wrong. She described seeing “sadness in Wheesung’s eyes” and expressed deep concern over his emotional state. "I saw his appearance approaching towards death," she said, urging the singer to take care of his heart and seek stability.

"You have a tender soul and body, so it seems like you are swaying and faltering. There is no one truly listening to you or understanding you. It looks like you are considering making an ultimate decision that you shouldn't make," She says and pleaded with him, "I keep seeing you closing your eyes and ascending to the heavens, which worries me deeply."
The video has sparked shock and debate online, with viewers commenting, "I can't believe this was predicted four years ago."
"This is the most chilling video I've seen this year," said another, while a fan admitted, "I used to think fortune-telling was superstition, but now..."
Wheesung, whose real name was Choi Whee-sung, was found dead at his home in Seoul on March 10. Authorities reported no signs of foul play, but the cause of death remainede 'unknown' and pending further investigation.
A funeral service was held on March 16 at Seoul Samsung Hospital’s funeral hall, where fellow entertainers and over 100 fans gathered to bid farewell. His younger brother, Dr. Choi Hyuk Seong, delivered an emotional message, revealing the singer’s long-standing struggles.
"My brother was always lonely and struggling. Our family wanted to help, but this was something that couldn’t be solved by others," he said, urging fans not to blame themselves. A psychiatrist who attended the service added, "Sometimes, there are aspects of illness beyond human control."
Choi Hyuk Seong added, "Please pass Wheesung’s music on to the next generation so that he will never be forgotten. By doing so, my brother will live on forever with us."
