After helming Prithviraj and Parvathy-starrer My Story, director
Roshni Dinaker is all set to direct her next, which will be a sports film centred on dirt-track racing. The movie, titled 2 Stroke, will tell the story of four generations of biking enthusiasts and their love for the sport and their motorbikes.
The first generation of bikers will be represented by Joy Mathew, the second by Sabumon Abdusamad and Adithya Menon, the third by
Amith Chakalakkal,
Sreenath Bhasi and Shebin Benson, and the current by Nebish Benson and Vishnu of Guppy fame.
“The film will explore the love for biking and how it has changed over the years,” says Roshni. “It will also focus on ethical and unethical racing.”
Five-time National Motocross Champion C D Jinan will play himself in the film and will also handle its race choreography. “Jinan’s character comes in at a pivotal portion in the film where he explains the difference between track and road racing,” explains the director.
The team are also planning to hold a national-level motocross racing event in Kava, Palakkad. “The participants will be professional racers, and we would using those scenes as part of the film,” says Roshni, adding that the team is hoping to begin filming in November.
