Starring Vineeth Sreenivasan in the lead, ‘Oru Jaathi Jaathakam’ follows the story of Jayesh, a man in his 30s who is eager to get married. However, his misogynistic mindset and unrealistic expectations for his future wife make it difficult for him to find a bride. This raises doubts within his family about his sexuality, leading to a series of humorous and unexpected situations. The film, which was directed by M Mohanan received decent responses from the audiences although some of the elements in the movie were criticized to be politically incorrect.
ETimes review for the Vineeth Sreeenivasan starrer read, “The film starts with some good writing and storytelling, but it becomes a bit loose as the film progresses. Cinematography by Vivek Menon and editing by John Kutty are kept basic, without gimmicks, which is a relief and works for this style of narration. Nishad does a good job in the lead role, playing a senior cop, but the film could have merited from a bigger star presence. All the actors have done a solid job, but there is the issue of the film getting bulky with too many of them. It is good to see Vani Vishwanath back on screen with the old spunk.”
Apart from Vineeth Sreenivasan and Nikhila Vimal, ‘Oru Jaathi Jaathakam’ also featured the actors Shaun Romy, Sayonara Philip, Amal Thaha, Kayadu Lohar and many others in pivotal roles.
