After making the warmly received feel-good drama Sila Nerangalil Sila Manithargal,
Vishal Venkat has roped in
Arjun Das to star in his next film, which will have music by D Imman.
The young filmmaker tells us, "Like my debut film, this one, too, is yet again about us, the people... what we are, how we see the world, and how we face certain problems. I believe we are all nice people at the end of the day, so this film also talks about love."
He says that despite the philosophical tone in the content, the film will be more in the entertainer zone.
"It's in the satire-drama space. But it will be a very fun film that's philosophical at the same time."
On roping in Arjun Das, who has largely played dark roles so far, he says, "He's a fantastic actor, and can fit into any kind of role. He has a very rooted face. I like breaking certain stereotypes, which makes things interesting. That's why I had cast Nasser sir, whom we often see in shrewd roles, as a very innocent character in SNSM. So, I felt Arjun Das would be the right fit once I'd finished writing the script."
