Samantha Ruth Prabhu recently turned heads at the pre-release event in
Visakhapatnam. While her stylish appearance and warm interactions with fans created buzz online, it was a short clip of the actress wiping her eyes that quickly took over social media. Many netizens began speculating about her emotional well-being, suggesting the actress might have been overwhelmed or upset.
However, Samantha has now firmly put those rumours to rest.
Taking to her Instagram stories, the 'Shaakuntalam' actress addressed the viral video and clarified why she appeared teary-eyed during the event. “I’ve said this before and I guess I’m saying it again,” Samantha began in her video message, “My eyes are extremely sensitive to bright lights, and they tend to water. That’s the only reason I was wiping them at the event.”
She went on to assure her fans that she’s in a good space. “There are a lot of posts and articles going around about my emotional well-being, and I just want to make it clear—it has absolutely nothing to do with that. I’m absolutely fine, happy, and super excited about the film.”
With Subham slated for release on May 9, Samantha also expressed her gratitude for the love and excitement from her fans in Vizag and urged the internet to stop reading too much into her natural reaction to stage lights. “Please give it a rest. Let’s not do this all over again,” she added with a smile.
Samantha Ruth Prabhu was last seen in the action-packed series Citadel: Hunny Bunny, where she starred opposite
Varun Dhawan. Directed by the acclaimed duo Raj and DK, the show premiered on Amazon Prime Video and received praise for its high-octane sequences and gripping storyline. Up next, the actress is gearing up for her role in the upcoming web series Rakt Barhmand: The Bloody Kingdom. She will be seen sharing screen space with
Aditya Roy Kapur in this intense, drama-filled project. From turning producer to taking charge of the narrative—both onscreen and off—Samantha continues to handle the spotlight with grace and clarity.
