How to protect yourself from frauds?
It is important to note here that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has advised people to stay warned of fraudsters in these cases. It has warned people of "fictitious deals" offered by unscrupulous companies, persons using its name to sell or buy old coins and banknotes. Additionally, the bank itself does not associate with these matters and has also not authorised any person or institution to collect charges or carry out transactions on it's behalf. Ensure the identity and authenticity of the buyer in every case before pursuing any such transactions online. The central bank also clarified this in a statement made to the public in August 2024.
While selling old notes and coins with the number 786 can be profitable, it’s essential to stay cautious. Verify buyers, avoid suspicious deals, and remember that the RBI does not facilitate such transactions. Stay informed and trade safely!
