NEW DELHI: A clash between security forces and terrorists erupted on Friday morning in the Chotigam area of
Shopian district in
Jammu and Kashmir, as confirmed by officials.
The
encounter, which began in the early hours, involves personnel from the police, the Army, and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who are currently engaged in the operation on the ground.
The Kashmir Zone Police, updating the situation, announced through a post on social media: "Encounter has started at Chotigam area of #Shopian district.
Shopian Police, Army & CRPF are on the job. Further details shall follow. @JmuKmrPolice."
