Out on bail, man kills again; gets death

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: An additional sessions court here Thursday awarded death penalty to Rajendran (40) of Tirunelveli in TN for the 2022 murder of a plant nursery worker, Vineetha, for a gold chain. Judge Prasoon Mohan accepted the prosecution's contention it was a "rarest of the rare" case. A fine of Rs 8 lakh was imposed.
Rajendran murdered Vineetha in Ambalamukku while on bail in a case lodged in TN for killing customs officer Subbaya (58), his wife Vasanthi (55) and daughter Abhisree (13) in 2015 and robbing them of gold. The trial is pending.
