Saraswati Puja 2024: Date, Timings, Puja Rituals and Significance

Saraswati Puja is one of the most sacred day when devotees honour Maa Saraswati and seek her blessings. Puja is performed during Navratri period mainly in South India. Devotees invoke the idol of Maa Saraswati on this auspicious day. Saraswati Puja observed in the month of Ashwina i.e., on October 10, 2024.

Saraswati Puja 2024: Significance
Saraswati Puja holds a great religious significance among Hindus.Saraswati Maa is the most worshipped deity in Hinduism. She is revered as the embodiment of creativity, art, wisdom, and knowledge. She is a symbol of elegance, grace, and purity. Students and artists celebrate this day with immense devotion and deep faith.
People pray to the Goddess Saraswati on this auspicious day of Saraswati Puja in order to seek blessings. On this day, it is believed that Lord Kamadeva is also honored. Some devotees also use Pitra Tarpan to seek blessings of the ancestors. On this day, young children write their names for the first time.
Saraswati Puja 2024: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. Devotees wear yellow colour clothes.
3. They prepare and white and yellow colour sweets and other delicacies.
4. Light a diya with desi ghee in front of the Saraswati Mata idol.
5. Put tilak with haldi, kumkum, offer her white and yellow colour saree and garland and offer sweets.
6. Present books, instruments and other stationary things in front of Goddess.
7. Cultural programmes are hosted at night.
8. Devotees must seek blessings of their Parents, Gurus, and teachers by touching their feet.
