Indian pacer
Mohammed Shami received a death threat via email on Sunday, prompting an FIR registration at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Uttar Pradesh's Amroha district. The complaint, filed by Shami's brother Haseeb, identified Rajput Sindar as the sender who demanded a ransom of Rs one crore from the cricketer currently playing in IPL 2025 with Sunrisers Hyderabad.
The FIR was registered on Monday following the Superintendent of Police's orders under sections 308(4) of Indian Penal Code (BNS) 2023, and sections 66d and 66e of Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008.
