Formula 1: Drive to Survive season 7 has landed on Netflix amid much anticipation and the one visibly missing from the show is Sky Sports pundit
Danica Patrick. She was seen in the last season but her public display of support for now US President
Donald Trump seems to have cost her an appearance in the new season.
There is no Danica Patrick in Drive to Survive season 7
Patrick has been a renowned and respected F1 pundit who is among the very few women to be a part of motorsport. She is a former NASCAR racer and the only woman to win an IndyCar series race. She moved to Sky Sports in 2021 where she gives her insights on Formula 1 races.
However, her image took a hit when she was seen attending Donald Trump’s rallies, showing support for him and his policies on social media by even sharing pictures of herself posing with him during the presidential elections. She even spoke at his campaign rally in Pennsylvania. She has been continuously facing severe backlash from the Formula 1 fans over the same.
Things turned worse when she mocked Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky who met Donald Trump at the time. F1 fans came down heavily on Patrick by starting a petition to ask Sky Sports to sack her immediately over her political affiliations which are contradictory to the ethics of Formula 1 that is all about human rights and political neutrality. There were trends like #SackDanicaPatrick and#RemovePatrickNow on X to force the channel to take an action against her.
It is to be noted, while Patrick is missing from the show, her Sky Sports F1 colleague and former F1 champion Jenson Button features in the seventh season along with other F1 experts Will Buxton and Claire Williams.
