Did Jackson Chourio really team up with General Mills for a cereal collab? Truth behind the viral buzz

Enthusiasm surged among baseball enthusiasts as rumors spread about Milwaukee Brewers' Jackson Chourio potentially becoming the face of a new cereal, 'Honey Nut Chourios.' The excitement was fueled by a convincing parody account mimicking the 'Talkin' Baseball' podcast, leading many to believe in the collaboration with General Mills.

Milwaukee Brewers rising star Jackson Chourio might soon start appearing on the breakfast tables of baseball fans across America. Reportedly, he is set to be the newest face of breakfast cereal fame as the youngest slugger in MLB history to reach a 20-20 season would score his limited edition 'Honey Nut Chourios.' The story has spread like wildfire on social media, and many believers can’t wait for this collector’s item to make its way to their pantries, only to learn sometimes on the internet, too good to be true.

The viral claim that captured fans' imagination

Disappointed fan Michael Barnes expressed his dismay on social media by saying "This was the breakfast of champions!" after coming to terms with the truth. Sunday, excitement began when @TalkinBasabell began to post what appeared to be breaking news: that Jackson Chourio was indeed working with General Mills and would be using their Honey Nut Cheerios to get to this point.

The mock-up box featured a smiling Jackson Chourio in his Milwaukee Brewers uniform, standing tall next to the cereal’s famous bee mascot with “Naturally Flavoured Jackson Chourio” on the front – a collaboration that would have made Chourio the first Milwaukee Brewers player to grace a cereal box.

Setting the record straight on the false collaboration

Sadly for the 21-year-old, their dreams of collecting a Jackson Chourio-themed breakfast item were quickly dashed. The entire story was from a parody account that looked so much like the real 'Talkin' Baseball' podcast from former Minnesota Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe. For General Mills, which has a market cap of $32.1 billion on the NYSE, such a partnership would have been perfect for the company – what better way to reach young fans than through one of baseball’s most exciting new talents?
Jackson Chourio’s .275/.327/.464 line with 21 homers and 79 RBIs, which only began this season, was impressive, but it was only the start after an impressive rookie campaign in which he finished third in NL Rookie of the Year voting behind Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes and San Diego Padres star Jackson Merrill.
As fans watch Jackson Chourio's stellar start to the 2025 season with his blistering .292/.288/.611 batting line, they'll have to satisfy themselves with admiring his swing rather than his smile over their morning cereal – for now, at least.
