The San Diego Padres just became the first team in the Majors to reach 10 wins this season with their 2-1 win, over the A’s at Sutter Health Park. Not only did the Padres manage despite three key players missing from the lineup, citing injuries, but they have proved who indeed is the best this season.

Fans cheer for San Diego Padres

Fans were excited to see how the San Diego Padres played out this season. They shared their reactions on X.
A fan said:

“The national League is ready for a shake up.”
Another fan reacted:

“The Padres are off to a great start!”
Another fan said:

“Congrats to the Padres! It's great to see them off to such a strong start. Looking forward to seeing how the season unfolds.”
A Los Angeles Dodgers’ fan said:

“Coming from an honest Dodgers fan we should just start building towards next year. Pretty clear San Diego will be running the NL west this season.”

Fans call out MLB’s bias

However, fans were locked in, stating that the MLB had their favorites. This incident was in context to Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani. While Ohtani is a known face around the globe, fans accused the MLB of showing favoritsm.
A fan said:

“Admin in shambles”
Another fan reacted:

“Admin typing this.”
A fan said:

“Hey at least we got an exclamation and an emoji.”

What led to the outrage?

This week, the MLB X account shared a post on Ohtani's home run in the third inning against the Washington Nationals. The fans, in the comment, had called out the MLB, stating clear bias.

A fan said:

“Maybe some highlights of the other 600 major leaguers when they do something could be better to grow the game than solely posting about Shohei and the Galactic Empire Dodgers but that’s just me.”
Another fan said:

“In the 3rd inning against a bottom 5 team in the league, I get the dodgers and Ohtani are the biggest thing in the sport rn but at least try and mask the bias a tinyyyyyyyyyy littleeeeee bit.”
Another fan reacted:

“I understand, he’s the best player in baseball, he brings in a whole country of viewership, but it’s the third inning. All caps for a regular play, that happens all the time in baseball? He’s not immortal.”
