The most-awaited announcement of Eddie Hall vs. Mariusz Pudzianowski has finally been made after Hall took to his YouTube channel to announce the date of their fight. The bout between two of the strongest men in the world has been the talk of the MMA circuit and the fans since 2024. After the freak fight against the Neffati brothers in June 2024, Hall has been extensively training to face Pudzianowski, an experienced MMA fighter known for his professional record of 17-9-1. The fight has been scheduled for the 26th of April, 2025, at the KSW.

Eddie Hall’s journey to becoming the strongest man in the world is an interesting one. During his early life, Hall worked as a mechanic, and he went on to leave his job and instead pursue what he wanted to. The former strongman is known for his world record setting 500kg deadlift in 2016. However, this record was broken in the year 2020 by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who later challenged for a boxing match. Tagged as the heaviest match in history, the match went in favour of Björnsson when he was unanimously declared as the winner. Apart from this, Hall has won competitions like England’s strongest man, Britain’s strongest man, and UK’s strongest man multiple times.
Hall made a comeback into combat sports in 2024, after he defeated the Neffati Brothers in a 2v1 “freak fight." Post the fight, he called out Pudzianowski for a face off, but negotiations took time before KSW finally scheduled the matchup.
“The fight is on. I have been talking about fighting Maruisz Pudzianowski for years. He is a five-times the world’s strongest man,” Hall stated in his YouTube announcement, adding “And he retired back in 2009 to become a professional MMA fighter. He’s had a 16-year career fighting in MMA; I think he’s had something like 27 fights [he has had 26]… Quite a decent winning/lose ratio.”

Contrary to Hall’s recent venture into the MMA sector, Pudzianowski stepped into the sport almost 15 years ago and ever since, he has established himself as a known fighter through a very strong professional record. While the Polish former strongman has slimmed down from weighing 145 kg to 116.7 kg, the British former strongman currently weighs 164 kg and aims to cut down to 150 kg by fight night.
The fight will follow modified rules, with rounds set at four minutes instead of the usual five. Hall initially pushed for two-minute rounds due to his inexperience, while Pudzianowski preferred full professional rules.

Well aware of the difference in experience possessed by both fighters, Hall’s only advantage is his raw power against Pudzianowski’s technical skills, which developed throughout the years of his MMA career. Fans are eager and excited to see, that, given the differences, if the young British can still pull up a win against the Polish Strongman.
