“You can save Ireland” – Conor McGregor’s political ambitions sparks among fans as he reminisces his most memorable knockout

Conor Mcgregor recalls his fastest knockout victory. It happened 14 years ago in Ireland. Fans are now linking this to Mcgregor's political aspirations. They are drawing comparisons between his knockout power and his potential to change Irish politics. Mcgregor has two fights left in his UFC contract. His future in the Octagon remains uncertain.

  • Conor McGregor’s fastest knockout of his career was in 3 seconds
  • The Irish fighter holds the fastest record of knockout in a title bout against Jose Aldo, which was in 13 seconds
  • McGregor still has two fights left in his contract with the UFC

Irish fighter Conor McGregor remains one of the greatest fighters, featuring impressive growth in his career. With an MMA record of 22-6-0, the fighter made a name for himself that most fighters couldn’t make even with a higher record. His career trajectory is filled with shocking wins and unpredictable knockouts that have kept the fans on edge regarding his comeback within the UFC. Recently, the fighter wrote on X about one of his most memorable knockouts, which was executed within 3 seconds and remains the fastest knockout of his career. The post ignited a hype that resulted in the fans drawing an analogy of how McGregor would now knock out the “corrupt government” in Ireland.

Conor McGregor knocked out Paddy Doherty in 3 seconds at the Immortal Fighting Championship 4

Before UFC, Conor McGregor was part of regional promotions in Ireland, a tenure during which the fighter faced defeat only twice and was on an 8-match winning streak before signing with the UFC. His UFC debut was a knockout win against Marcus Brimage. Early in his career, McGregor defeated fighters like Max Holloway, Dustin Poirier, Jose Aldo and others. The Irish fighter holds the record for the fastest knockout in UFC title fight history. He knocked out Aldo during the featherweight title bout in 13 seconds. While this remains one of the greatest achievements of McGregor, his post on X reminisces about the moment that came early in his career at the Immortal Fighting Championship 4 against Paddy Doherty.
“14 years ago today, I scored the fastest professional MMA KO of my career. 3 seconds. Letterkenny, Ireland”

The bout started with Doherty advancing towards McGregor, while the latter blocks the attack, followed by a knockout that created history for the Irish fighter.

Fans draw an analogy with the political ambitions of the fighter

While UFC fans await an announcement by the fighter, there seems to be no development in the supposed discussions within the UFC regarding the last two remaining bouts in McGregor’s contract. The fighter, instead, is more invested in his newfound political ambitions. Fans relate the iconic MMA knockout, metaphorically, to the presumed graph of his political career.
One of the fans wrote, “Now score the fastest take back of your Country….”

Another one wrote, “Connor to KO opponents and become the next Irish President.”

“I hope you can save Ireland.”

“And now you’re about to KO the corrupt Irish government…”

The fighter’s recent run in the UFC is, however, not that satisfactory. His MMA record in the last five bouts stands at 2-3. With two more fights left in his contract and the ongoing discussions on it, it is hard to predict if the fighter will be back in the Octagon or dive right into his political ambitions.
