Deshaun Watson is back in the spotlight, but not for throwing touchdowns. The Cleveland Browns quarterback, who recently re-ruptured his right Achilles tendon, posted a new training video giving fans a glimpse into his rehab process. With his 2025 season in doubt and the Browns already exploring other quarterback options, Watson’s future in Cleveland is anything but certain. Still, he’s staying locked in on his comeback and pushing a message of resilience. In the video, Watson spoke about his mindset, the criticism he’s faced, and his determination to return stronger. Deshaun Watson shares rehab progress after Achilles re-injury
Deshaun Watson, who originally tore his Achilles in Week 7 of the 2024 season before suffering a setback in January 2025, is once again facing a long recovery. In his latest rehab video, he reflected on his journey and the public perception surrounding him.
“At the end of the day, I gotta understand too like?my name, my presence is bigger than what people actually see,?Watson said. “For me, I wanted to be genuine because everything that I lived about always been genuine. Like, I’ve always dreamed of just serving others and just bringing grit, like, aura, energy around. Folks, I’m a big energy person, but I play staples today.?br/>
He also addressed the criticism he’s faced since signing his fully guaranteed $230 million deal in 2022. “You know, in a sense, you can’t take it personal. I kind of learned that. But I think naturally, we kind of do that as humans, trying to take, you know, other people’s opinions personally. It goes back to, people don’t understand me. They don’t know. So when they don’t understand or know something, they kind of try to speak on it.?br/>Meanwhile, the Browns aren’t waiting around. They’ve already hosted Wilson, though he left without a deal. Cleveland is also expected to explore veteran options like Geno Smith and Derek Carr, and with the No. 2 pick in the draft, a rookie quarterback is very much on the table.
