Miami Dolphins' Tyreek Hill, who played for the Kansas City Chiefs player till 2022 when he was traded, will be watching from a distance as the Chiefs eye a rare three-peat at this year’s
Super Bowl. The Kansas City Chiefs and
Philadelphia Eagles will compete in Super Bowl LIX, which will be held on Feb. 9 in New Orleans at the Caesars Superdome. It remains to be seen if QB Patrick Mahomes can lead Kansas to its third straight Super Bowl win and Hill is quite conflicted about supporting his former team.
Why Is Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill Unsure About Rooting For His Former Team At the Super Bowl?
Hill revealed that he is torn about Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs snagging the three-peat this year since he has friends in the Eagles as well. “I wanna see Pat three-peat, I do,” Hill said in a TikTok video posted by Complex Sports. “I really wanna see Pat three-peat but also, I got some friends on the Philadelphia Eagles man. C.J. Gardner-Johnson, he’s a buddy of mine, A.J. Brown, I wanna see him ball out obviously. So I just wanna see a good game man.”
Hill was drafted by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and spent the first six seasons of his career with them, making the Pro Bowl every year and winning one ring with the Chiefs in 2019. He also had back-to-back 1,200-yard receiving campaigns. However, instead of offering Hill a massive long-term deal, Kansas City traded him to the Dolphins before the 2022 season.
This year, Hill missed the playoffs for the first time in his nine-year career which led to fans speculating about his potential exit from Miami. Dolphins failed to reach the postseason and finished with a losing record for the first time in three years under coach Mike McDaniel.

Hill did not play in the fourth quarter against the Jets. McDaniel revealed that he was informed by some members of his coaching staff that the receiver was “unavailable right before a drive.” “I was not informed that it was a new injury,” McDaniel said, “and I think at that point of time my focus was on the players and I didn’t take the time to go and try and figure out more into that.”
