New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr said he would be interested in playing with former teammate Davante Adams, who is currently with the Las Vegas Raiders but wants a trade. Adams, who is signed with the Raiders through 2025, said he'd like to play with a quarterback he knows: He mentioned Carr and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Raiders have told other teams they'd consider trading Adams for a second-round draft pick and other compensation.

"I think all 32 quarterbacks would love to play with Davante. We would welcome that," New Orleans Saints quarterback Derek Carr told reporters on Thursday. "I don't know if I can get in trouble for saying that. I just think everyone kind of knows that... I think everyone would love to play with Tay. I would obviously welcome playing with him again if that ever worked out in our careers.”
Carr and Adams were college teammates at Fresno State and in the NFL. Adams caught 100 passes for 1,516 yards and 14 touchdowns in their lone NFL season. Carr was released by the Raiders after the offseason to avoid paying him $40.4 million in guaranteed future money, and signed with the Saints for the 2023 campaign. Adams does not appear to be amused in Las Vegas considering unhappiness over quarterback play last season and potential reasons. He was on the trading block before the in-season deadline, but no trades happened.

Adams has denied any discontent with his current situation in Las Vegas, but there have been recent reports that he had asked for a trade and may be on his way out of the Raiders. The Saints could attempt to slot him alongside Chris Olave and Rashid Shaheed for the best receiving trio around star running back Alvin Kamara. However, that depends on the restructuring of the contract of Adams and some shrewd bookkeeping on the part of the Saints since they have no cap space to absorb his contract.
