Swifties are seeing red — and not the album kind. In a shocking twist, hackers stole more than 900 Taylor Swift Eras Tour tickets, pocketing a jaw-dropping $635,000. The news has sent Taylor’s fanbase into a frenzy, reigniting anger over ticket scams and the ongoing battle for fair access to her concerts.
How Hackers Exploited StubHub's System to Steal and Resell Taylor Swift Eras Tour Tickets for Profit
According to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz, the scheme dates back to the summer of 2022, when a "cybercrime crew" in Kingston, Jamaica, working for a third-party contractor partnered with StubHub, discovered a system vulnerability. Using their inside access, they intercepted ticket URLs meant for buyers and rerouted them to their co-conspirators in Queens, New York.
The stolen tickets — over 900 of them — were primarily for Taylor's record-breaking Eras Tour but also included other high-profile events like Adele and Ed Sheeran concerts, NBA games, and the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. The scammers then resold the tickets back on StubHub, making a staggering $635,000.
Two People Arrested in Taylor Swift Ticket Scheme While Authorities Hunt for More Co-Conspirators
Two individuals, Tyrone Rose from Jamaica and Shamara P. Simmons from Queens, were arrested and charged for their roles in the scam. They face charges including second-degree grand larceny, first-degree and fourth-degree computer tampering, and conspiracy. If convicted, they could face up to 15 years in prison.
However, the investigation is far from over. Authorities are still digging into the operation, with the Queens D.A. confirming that they are searching for other possible co-conspirators involved in the scheme.

This latest scandal only adds fuel to the fire, pushing supporters to demand stronger security measures from ticket platforms.
As the case against Rose and Simmons unfolds, Swifties are rallying behind Taylor once again — but this time, they're calling for more than just justice. Many are pressing for stricter ticketing regulations to prevent future scams and ensure fans have a fair shot at seeing their idol live.
With the Eras Tour set to continue, the pressure is on for platforms like StubHub to restore fan trust. One thing’s for sure — when it comes to Taylor Swift and her fans, silence is never an option.
