"He's vital for the team": Leafs' GM Brad Treliving addresses Mitch Marner's trade situation and focus on Maple Leafs' success

But the young player has been in the news ever since it was reported that he refused to waive his no trade clause and join the Carolina Hurricanes. Recently, Brad Treliving, the general manager of the Toronto Maple Leafs, spoke about Mitch Marner’s future in the team.

TSN’s Gino Reda recently spoke to Brad Treliving about Mitch Marner’s situation and future in the team.
Brad Treliving said, "We're going to focus on the ice, and any updates that we have business-wise, we'll be sure to share them if and when. But Mitch, as we all know, has had a terrific year, and he's a vital part of our team.”
Brad Treliving added, “As they all are, he's a big part of what we're going to try to accomplish the next 14 games and moving on beyond that. That's really where all of our focus is."
On the other hand, as per a recent report by TSN’s Pierre LeBrun, Mitch Marner already has a team which is interested in him as soon as he becomes a free agent in a few months. This team is none other than the Carolina Hurricanes, as per the report.
While the star player of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Mitch Marner, has issued a statement about the situation, fans are still confused about it. A day after the trade deadline, Mitch Marner spoke to the reporters about refusing to waive his no trade clause.
He said, “I wasn’t focused on it, and I’m sure that I had a feeling that maybe something might happen. But yeah, I’m here to play hockey with this team, like I said, and I’m focused on being with this team, and that’s what I can tell you.”
In the last few days, Mitch Marner has also gotten trolled due to a recent slump in his performance. However, things are looking better for him now as the team gears up to face the Colorado Avalanche on Wednesday.
