Erik Karlsson gave a nice hockey stick pat to Alex Nedeljkovic

Defenseman Erik Karlsson of the Pittsburgh Penguins gave a nice little hockey stick encouraging pat to Penguins goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic’s goalie leg pad for his classic save! Nedeljkovic made it easier for Karlsson because Columbus Blue Jackets American ice hockey defenseman Zach Werenski had aimed straight for the middle goal into the net, between the leg pads of goaltender Alex Nedeljkovic. And guess what happened next? Nedeljkovic folded his knees and sat down, thereby preventing the puck from entering his beautifully protected net! Wow. One mindblowing view there!

Pittsburgh Penguins stands third from the last in the Eastern Conference Playoff Standings

According to the Playoff Status website, Pittsburgh Penguins from the Metropolitan Division stands third last among all NHL teams. Penguins are followed next by the Philadelphia Flyers from the Metropolitan Division. And the last NHL team in the Eastern Conference Playoff Standings is the Buffalo Sabres from the Atlantic Division.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have had 29 wins, 32 losses, and 10 overtime losses in the 2024-2025 NHL season. The Penguins have the highest overtime losses of 10. So far, the Penguins have played 71 games. The team has accumulated 68 points, only defeating the Flyers with 64 points. The lowest points are accumulated by the Buffalo Sabres - 60.

Maybe Penguins head coach Mike Sullivan needs to prevent the overtime losses and increase the total accumulated game points, but for now, he’s happy with his goaltender, Alex Nedeljkovic. Mike Sullivan shared with the media in the post-game press conference, “He(Alex Nedeljkovic) was great all night. Obviously, they are a high-shot volume team. They put a lot of pucks on the net. He made a few grade-A stops in the third period, in particular, when they were pushing hard.”
