Ricochet's rivalry on AEW television led to his foe taking a jab at him at the expense of his popular former WWE announcer wife, Samantha Irvin.
Samantha Irvin became one of the most captivating and exciting WWE ring announcers of all time. She became a cornerstone for the main roster and in doing so, she also found love in wrestling star Ricochet on the main roster. After Ricochet left WWE last year, it was a shortwhile after that Irvin shocked the world by resigning from the company.
The One and Only star is now a part of AEW and is heading into a high-stakes match for their next pay-per-view, Revolution. His foe made things personal on the final edition of Dynamite before the show.

Samantha Irvin was referenced on AEW television

On the March 5th, 2025, edition of AEW Dynamite, Ricochet met his arch-rival, Swerve Strickland, in the ring to sign the contract for their upcoming match at AEW Revolution. The winner of that match would receive a future AEW World Championship match. Things got heated between the duo, citing weeks of animosity and tensions leading into Revolution.

However, at the end of the segment when both men inked the deal, Swerve Strickland took a major shot at Ricochet by referencing Samantha Irvin. Swerve said, 'There’s only gonna be 2 things you’ll be remembered for… One of those things is that Swerve briefly revived your career. The second, your ring announcer wife."

This led to Ricochet getting agitated and, once again, trying to attack with a pair of scissors. However, Swerve countered it with a pair of his scissors of his own and sent the former WWE superstar in retreat. Following the end of the show, Samantha Irvin dropped a GIF in response to Swerve's comments about her on AEW television.

Samantha Irvin left her WWE career at the height of big success. She made it clear after her exit that she only did ring announcing to get a bigger role on WWE television. However, after realising that the company did not see her in any other role apart from a ring announcer, Irvin left the company. With Samantha pursuing her music career at the moment, it remains to be seen what the future holds for her.
