In today's world, staying connected is important and a reliable power bank is a must-have for anyone who uses their devices on the go. Domestic brand Ubon, known for its affordable electronics, claims to have created the "world's smallest power bank" with the PB-X112. This compact device boasts a 10,000mAh capacity and 25W output, promising to keep devices charged without weighing users down.
Priced at Rs 2, 499, but does it live up to the expectations? We have been using the Ubon PB-X112 power bank for a few weeks now and here’s what we think.
Design and Portability
Ubon has delivered on its promise of a pocket-sized power source as the PB-X112 is incredibly compact, measuring 2.5 inches by 2 inches by 1 inch. The powerbank has a rugged design and yellow finish all over while the cables are grey in colour. One of the positive highlights of the powerbank’s dual charging ability. The PB-X112 has two charging output cables that come attached to the powerbank and both support 25W output.
The USB-C cable is placed on the top of the device along with tiny LED lights that indicate the battery status. While on the Lightning port (for iPhones and Apple products) is housed on the left along with the PD port which supports both power input and output. The USB-C cable can also be adjusted as a lanyard for portability.
The compact and lightweight design of the powerbank helped us to easily slip the device into a pocket or small bag, making it ideal for travel or daily commutes. The built-in cables (USB-C and Lightning) eliminate the need to carry extra cords, further enhancing its portability. This 3-in-1 design, coupled with a dedicated PD port, ensures compatibility with a wide range of devices, from smartphones and tablets to earbuds and more.
Battery Performance
The UBON PB-X112 packs a 10,000mAh battery. During our testing, the powerbank was able to fully juice up two smartphones together and still had a little juice left. The 25W power output delivers fast charging speeds, minimising downtime and maximising usage.
While Ubon didn’t specify exact charging times, the combination of battery capacity and power output, this power bank was able to quickly replenish our devices. For instance, the powerbank was able to charge a Pixel 9 and an iPhone 14 to 80% within an hour.
However, it took around 2 hours to get fully charged while the LED indicator helped us to stop it from getting overcharged. Furthermore, the powerbank also includes an "intelligent power IC" that also provides peace of mind by preventing overcharging, overheating and short circuits.
Verdict
The Ubon PB-X112 presents a compelling case for those seeking a portable and powerful charging solution. Its ultra-compact design, integrated cables, and 25W output make it incredibly convenient for users on the move. The charging speeds and battery longevity is good enough for a single user and can handle most everyday charging needs. If you prioritise portability and convenience with acceptable charging speed, the Ubon PB-X112 is certainly worth considering.
